Genny Guracar, a cartoonist of many years standing, did this fantasy piece "Butterfly Spring" for her granddaughter. She did the portrait of the girl and some of the freeform piecing at Asilomar, and then very successfully completed the piece in the two months following.

Faces in Fabric: a workshop for those who are interested in a more specific look at rendering the human face convincingly in fabric, no matter what your drawing skills may be. Traditionals Transformed: Give an old favorite a new twist - take a traditional block and tweak it. Class time will be mostly spent on learning to distort blocks and learning the patternless freeform piecing technique. Inking Your Fabric: Learn easy, effective shading and blending techniques in this workshop on a variety of subject matter, which will allow you to produce images of your choice.
