Lura Schwarz Smith -

Student Work
Charlotte Freeman had already gotten the life-size portrait well in progress before my class, but wanted help with the hands and face. The cowboy himself is 6 feet tall, and the finished piece, called "Buck-a-Roux," is 36" x 79". The hat is three-dimensional, with the brim projecting out, as are the saddle, rope, kerchief, etc.

Buck-a-Roux won first place in Innovative at the 2004 Road to California quilt show.
