Nina Shortridge is producing a portrait of Frida Kahlo, using inking techniques for the face. For the background, she used the paperless freeform curved machine piecing technique taught in "Traditionals Transformed."

Faces in Fabric: a workshop for those who are interested in a more specific look at rendering the human face convincingly in fabric, no matter what your drawing skills may be. Traditionals Transformed: Give an old favorite a new twist - take a traditional block and tweak it. Class time will be mostly spent on learning to distort blocks and learning the patternless freeform piecing technique.
