Diana Roberts, using inks on fabric, worked from her own photograph and really captured the rosy cheeks of her grandchild during a one-day Designing Art Quilts class. This project was shown as a student sample on my Simply Quilts Episode #1016, on Inking Faces.

Designing Art Quilts: Bring a photograph or simple drawing and learn to design your own art quilt pattern. All skill levels are welcome, and the words "I can't draw!" are outlawed. Inking Your Fabric: Learn easy, effective shading and blending techniques in this workshop on a variety of subject matter, which will allow you to produce images of your choice.
